MP Ghufran Al-Shammari Calls for Review of Police Command Office Managers and Investigation of Citizens’ Complaints
The requests were outlined in an official letter addressed by Al-Shammari to the Minister of Interior, calling for the reorganisation of police command office management and a review of administrative performance. The letter referred to complaints and observations received concerning certain offices, including reported concerns about staff interactions with citizens and the handling of their requests.

The letter called for an administrative review of office managers who have remained in their positions for four years or more, with consideration given to rotating or replacing them.

It also requested that their performance be assessed against professional standards, that complaints of mistreatment or delays in processing transactions be investigated, and that appropriate measures be taken against those found to have committed violations.

Al-Shammari also proposed establishing an official telephone number dedicated to the Minister of Interior’s office to receive and confidentially follow up on citizens’ complaints, providing a direct channel for reporting administrative problems associated with visits to security offices.

In the letter, Al-Shammari emphasised that respecting citizens and treating them appropriately are essential aspects of the security institution’s performance. She called for urgent action and requested a written response to her office within fifteen days of receipt of the letter, outlining the measures taken in response to the requests.

The text of the letter provided does not include a response from the Ministry of Interior or details of any measures it may take regarding the requests.
